U.S. Postal Service Awards Contract to Persystent Technologies for PC Imaging and Recovery
Tampa, FL, June 8, 2009 – Persystent Technologies, developers of the world’s fastest automated PC recovery product on the market, today announced that the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) has awarded a contract to Persystent Technologies to deploy Persystent Suite.
Persystent Suite, which restores corrupted, changed, or missing operating system and application files in less than 30 seconds, will be used to image, protect and enforce desktop policies on approximately 150,000 PC workstations for the USPS nationwide. Persystent Suite ensures that PCs are always work-ready by identifying and resolving system problems every time the computer is started. Unlike any other recovery products, Persystent Suite is the only solution that resolves problems whether the PC is on or off the network, even if the operating system is corrupted or cannot start.
With more than 32,000 post offices nationwide, USPS faces the challenge of managing thousands of remote PC workstations. In the past, USPS staff relied on remote IT help desk assistance for the majority of computer issues, which could take hours to resolve. With Persystent Suite, individual employees will be able to resolve computer issues caused by malware, system misconfiguration and viruses by simply rebooting the machine – essentially giving them a self-healing PC. As a result, USPS expects to reduce PC downtime and the time and expense associated with re-imaging a failed PC. Persystent Suite also reduces help desk calls while maintaining the reliability of one of an organization’s most important employee productivity tool. Persystent Suite is ideal for organizations, such as the USPS, with a high ratio of employees to IT staff and that require a high degree of business continuity.
“We are very pleased to be able to partner with the U. S. Postal Service to positively impact the efficiencies and timeliness of postal service throughout the country,” says Joe Loughry, President and CEO, Persystent Technologies. “Persystent ensures a high degree of business continuity, resulting in increased USPS employee productivity.”
About Persystent Technologies
The Persystent® Technologies solutions ensure that end-user desktop and laptop computers are always available and fully functional—whether in the office or offsite.
When computers are down, so is business productivity. Persystent Technologies developed the only automated PC recovery product on the market with unsurpassed speed, restoring application and operating system (O/S) files that are corrupted, changed, or missing, in less than 30 seconds.
Unlike any other disaster recovery provider, Persystent Technologies offers the only solution that restores degraded systems to a working state whether the PC is on or off the network, and even if the O/S will not start.
Nothing, including viruses, malware or other unauthorized programs can stop a Persystent PC from returning to its desired configuration. By simply rebooting the system, either automatically or on demand, Persystent Technologies eliminates the need for manual PC re-imaging while preserving user data and settings during the restoration process.
In addition to keeping end users productive, Persystent Technologies enables IT staffs to control PC damage, reduce help desk calls, enforce compliance, and improve the success rate of software patches and updates. Additional benefits include energy savings through reduced PC power consumption via an automatic shutdown feature.
Founded in 2002, Persystent Technologies solutions have been instrumental to organizations across North America including government, health care and education sectors with limited resources to support a high ratio of employees to IT staff and 24/7 business uptime.
