Persystent Technologies Enterprise Suite Fights PC Configuration Drift

Tampa, FL, August 11, 2008
– Persystent Technologies, the leading provider of automated PC repair and high-speed imaging, improves PC update success rates when companies use its Persystent Enterprise Suite software to manage the entire lifecycle of desktop and laptop systems.

“Configuration drift is the most frequent cause for software distribution failure on the endpoint,” said Ken Fitzpatrick, chief marketing officer for Persystent. “PC lifecycle management software is critical for companies that must define and enforce configuration standards to remain in compliance and better manage the risk factors involved with doing business today.  Our software is integrated with all 3rd party desktop tools to enforce the desired state, and provide automated repair and policy enforcement.”

For example, if a PC user, knowingly or unknowingly, downloads an application and the application is not authorized  by the IT department, this could impact the performance and integrity of the PC. The unauthorized application changes system files and registry settings which ultimately ‘clogs’ up the PC. This phenomenon is called configuration drift, which happens all the time with PCs. Persystent Enterprise software monitors and audits computers to make sure unscheduled or unsanctioned changes are detected, reported and repaired – automatically.  Persystent’s software automatically repairs and restores an infected or corrupted PC’s operating system and software applications, on or off the network, while also ensuring enforcement of corporate configuration policies pre-boot of the operating system.

Persystent was also recently listed as a sample vendor in a recent report by Gartner titled Toolkit Best Practice: Improving PC Update Success Rates*.

“A high success rate for software updates is vital to an organization’s ability to continue effective and efficient IT operations,” said Terrence Cosgrove, industry analyst, Gartner, Inc. “Tools that can detect and repair configuration drift offer a  way to improve the success.rate for desktop updates.”

Persystent Enterprise provides IT administrators with stand-alone solutions for automated PC repair and high-speed imaging that address the entire PC lifecycle (build, deploy, manage and audit).  It transforms today’s computers from their current state of unpredictability and vulnerability to a new solid state of continuous computing.

Persystent Enterprise has been deployed within a wide range of industries and leading organizations, including Georgia Pacific, the Department of Defense, PacCoast Builders, Continucare, Lifelink, Sarasota Memorial Hospital, City of Orlando, and the U.S. Army.
