Persystent Software Expands Management Team with New VP of Product Development

A 25-year industry veteran, Wattwood brings to Persystent extensive technical leadership experience, having helped drive significant product innovation and growth for some of the software industry’s largest companies. She also successfully led development teams through corporate mergers and acquisitions.

In her new role, Wattwood will manage the product engineering team to further enhance the company’s core, patented high speed repair technology found throughout the Persystent product portfolio. She will also be instrumental in helping the company deliver the industry’s first rapid server recovery product, currently in development. Wattwood will report directly to the CEO.

Before joining Persystent, Wattwood served in technical and product management positions at several major technology companies, including Symantec, VERITAS, and Siemens. While at Symantec, Wattwood served as the technical liaison to Microsoft, coordinating joint development initiatives. Most recently, she helped establish the product roadmap for emerging wireless industry player Sunsight Instruments.

Wattwood is a proven senior technical leader with experience developing or enhancing products that translate directly to sales growth, having managed the delivery of ten product releases that helped fuel her company’s revenue growth nearly ten-fold, from $50 million to $400 million. She also has direct experience leading teams through the potentially disruptive transitions resulting from employer mergers and acquisitions, ultimately maintaining team focus that resulted in a 28 percent increase in license sales.
