The 451 Group Recognizes Persystent Software for its Innovative PC Recovery Solutions
Tampa, FL, October 19, 2009 – Persystent Software, developers of the fastest automated PC recovery solutions on the market - restoring corrupted, changed, or missing operating system and application files in 30 seconds or less – today announced the availability of The 451 Group analyst report, “Persystent Targets New Markets, Looks beyond Desktop to Server.” The report cites the company’s strategic approach to winning new deals across broader market segments and the new subscription pricing model as the key ingredients for its future success.
“There's something to be said for a PC utility that automatically finds and fixes problems upon reboot, given that the first remedial action to fix a troubled PC is typically to just reboot it,” said Dennis Callaghan, enterprise software analyst with The 451 Group. “We've always liked Persystent for that reason. Now with its segmented offerings, subscription pricing model and soon server support, we're pretty enthused about where the company is going.”
The report provides more details on how Persystent Software has expanded from its original Persystent Enterprise flagship into four different versions targeted at different market segments, ranging from small businesses to large enterprises (20-200,000 PCs):
- Persystent Solo, a stand-alone solution designed for PCs that are not connected to a company-supported, managed IT network. It is ideal for small businesses with up to 25 computers, remote office and mobile “road warrior” PC users as well as the managed service providers (MSPs).
- Persystent Edge, a preconfigured solution for small businesses with 25-250 PCs, which enables a quick server deployment to maintain and control end-user PCs.
- Persystent Suite, a server-based PC offering for organizations with 250-1,000 PCs, which enables IT departments to control PC damage, reduce help desk calls and energy consumption, enforce compliance, and improve the success rate of software patches and updates.
- Persystent Enterprise, a highly scalable PC recovery solution that ensures business continuity and compliance and supports policy compliance, disaster-recovery planning and virtualization. It is ideal for large organizations with more than 1,000 PCs.
Additionally, the report notes that Persystent has made it easier for customers to purchase its software by moving to a subscription, per-seat, per-month pricing model, maintaining perpetual licenses only for the government accounts that require it.
“We are pleased to be recognized for our core, patented PC recovery technology,” said Joe Loughry, CEO of Persystent. “We operate under the premise that the personal computer is the most important worker productivity tool. If the PC is down, so is business continuity. Our down market strategy supports our mission to ensure that end-user desktops and laptops are always available and fully functional, no matter what size the business and no matter when or where they work.”
The company also plans to expand into the server market.
Persystent Software and the 451 Group are teaming up for a virtual webinar on Thursday, November 19 at 2:00 p.m. (ET) about how companies can drastically reduce IT help desk calls and save on energy costs using the automated shut down feature in Persystent Suite. About Persystent Software
Persystent® Software solutions ensure that end-user desktop and laptop computers are always available and fully functional—whether in the office or offsite.
When computers are down, so is business productivity. Persystent Software developed the only automated PC recovery products on the market with unsurpassed speed, restoring application and operating system (O/S) files that are corrupted, changed, or missing, in less than 30 seconds.
Unlike any other disaster recovery provider, Persystent Software offers the only solution that restores degraded systems to a working state whether the PC is on or off the network, and even if the O/S will not start.
Nothing, including viruses, malware or other unauthorized programs can stop a Persystent PC from returning to its desired configuration. By simply rebooting the system, either automatically or on demand, Persystent Software eliminates the need for manual PC re-imaging while preserving user data and settings during the restoration process.
In addition to keeping end users productive, Persystent Software enables IT staffs to control PC damage, reduce help desk calls, enforce compliance, and improve the success rate of software patches and updates. Additional benefits include energy savings through reduced PC power consumption via an automatic shutdown feature.
Founded in 2002, Persystent Software solutions have been instrumental to organizations across North America including government, health care and education sectors with limited resources to support a high ratio of employees to IT staff and 24/7 business uptime.
