Persystent Software Nominated by ITFlorida as a Finalist for Annual Statewide Award
Tampa, FL, November 12, 2009 – Persystent Software, developers of the fastest PC recovery products on the market, today announced its nomination by ITFlorida as a 2009 finalist for its Annual Statewide Awards Program in recognition for IT excellence in the area of “Government Technology Leadership” by a private company. Persystent Software serves federal, state and local government IT organizations throughout North America.
“As an industry, we are proud to announce this slate of remarkable finalists, who represent the forefront of Florida’s knowledge economy,” said Earnie Franklin, Chair of ITFlorida. “For every year of the program, we have set a new record for number of nominations received, which in 2009 was 243.”
The nomination of Persystent Software is a strong testament to the solutions it delivers to a wide reach of government agencies, including the U.S. Postal Service (USPS), which is using Persystent Suite to image, protect and enforce desktop policies on approximately 200,000 PC workstations for the USPS nationwide. With more than 32,000 post offices nationwide, USPS has faced the challenge of managing thousands of remote PC workstations. Previously, USPS staff relied on remote IT help desk assistance for the majority of computer issues, which could take hours to resolve. With Persystent Suite, individual employees will be able to resolve computer issues caused by malware, system misconfiguration and viruses by simply rebooting the machine – essentially giving them a self-healing PC.
Many government agency customers of Persystent Software use Persystent Suite to ensure compliance with Federal Desktop Core Configuration (FDCC) standards. The FDCC mandate, put in place one year ago by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget, requires that all federal agencies standardize the configuration of approximately 300 settings on each of their Windows-based PCs. The goal of such standardization being to strengthen federal IT security by reducing opportunities for hackers to access and exploit government computer systems. With Persystent, compliance is automated by simply resetting the image back to the baseline every time a computer is restarted.
Persystent Suite ensures that PCs are always work-ready by identifying and resolving system problems every time the computer is started. Unlike any other recovery products, Persystent Suite is the only solution that resolves problems whether the PC is on or off the network, even if the operating system is corrupted or cannot start. Persystent Suite is ideal for organizations, with a high ratio of employees to IT staff and that require a high degree of business continuity.
