Persystent to Sponsor Presentation on IT Governance and Risk at Tampa Bay Technology Forum Event

Tampa, FL, April 9, 2007
– Persystent Technologies, the leader in automated desktop availability and compliance solutions, today announced that the company will be presenting a discussion by Jose Torres, Protiviti's Managing Director for Technology Risk Services for Central Florida and Regional Lead for CIO Services, at the Tampa Bay Technology Forum's May Business Briefing. Protiviti, a leading provider of independent internal audit, business and technology risk consulting services, will discuss the critical topic of IT governance and its impact on both regulations and dynamic world of business applications.

The planning and actions needed by most companies to enable meaningful IT governance needs to include two things, the ability to track information about current applications and systems status, and the ability to use that information to set and enforce policies that improve overall IT efficiency, compliance and system-wide accountability.

The presentation, titled "Policy or Peril: Reconciling SOA & IT Governance," will arm attendees with the strategies they need to determine the correct level of IT governance for their businesses. As the acceptance of a Service Oriented Architecture proliferates throughout the enterprise, organizations must grapple with new risks and policies that come with their accelerated adoption of new IT services. In an era of intense scrutiny on the IT organization, Jose Torres will provide listeners with next steps for achieving the alignment of IT with the goals of the business.

The presentation will include a demonstration of Persystent Technologies automated policy enforcement, which provides demonstrable control over IT assets, delivering the accountability needed for IT governance, compliance and best practices requirements such as those outlined in IT Service Management, ITIL and COBIT.

The Tampa Bay Technology Forum May Business Briefing, will be held at the University of Tampa's Crescent Club, on May 17th from 5:30PM to 7:30PM. Tickets are $10 for TBTF members and $15 for non-members. Register HERE.
